This class is held virtually via Zoom
Previous taiko experience is recommended as the rhythms and songs covered in this class are more challenging and taught at a faster pace. This 4-week class will meet on Mondays from 6:30 - 7:30 pm pacific time on 2/7, 2/21, 2/28, and 3/7. Each week's lesson will be recorded and you will have access to the recordings for up to a week after the final lesson. Fee is $60 via Venmo, PayPal or mailed check. Email email@example.com to register and I will email a link that you will need to access the virtual class.
Here's what else you will need:
A computer, tablet, or phone that can connect to the internet and has the free Zoom app installed. The bigger the screen the better.
A stable internet connection
Something to use for a taiko (drum). It can be as simple as a pillow on a table top, couch cushions, rolled up phone book/magazines, or a drum practice pad or a homemade plastic trash can drum made with a plastic trash can (or anything with a round opening) and cheap plastic tape.
Something to use for bachi (drumsticks). Can be as simple as similarly-sized kitchen utensils, or a bunch of sheets of paper rolled lengthwise into thin cylinders secured with tape, or 7/8" wooden dowel cut into 16" lengths and rounded edges with sandpaper.
